Watershed Packaging Round Up!
It has been a few months since our last post in our blog because we have been very busy working behind the scenes revamping things here at Watershed Packaging. In our last post we discussed all things ANUGA FoodTec in Germany. The show was a brilliant success and we look forward to exhibiting at other shows in the upcoming years.
To give you a brief update on the latest events at Watershed over the past few months I will start by mentioning that we recently achieved yet another fantastic AA Grade pass in our BRC Packaging Audit at both our Leeds headquarters and our Wales manufacturing facility! This is a fantastic achievement and we are so grateful and thankful for those who took part in helping us achieve this tremendous result. Did you know that our Wales production facility is the only BRC AA Grade Printed Tape manufacturer in the UK!
Continuing the exciting news, we now have capabilities to offer higher barrier films, combining polyester, polyethylene, polypropylene and nylon as laminates due to the investment of our new high-speed Laminator which was the first in the world of its series. We are now able to offer more complex applications and requirements, and support customers who are looking for improved shelf-life. Watershed’s Laminator also uses a more greenhouse-friendly solvent-less adhesive system which prevents VOC emissions to the atmosphere compared to solvent-based adhesives.
We have recently installed a brand new Printing Press at our Leeds HQ which is capable of printing all your Shrink Sleeves, Die Cut Lids, Flexible Packaging and Label requirements. In the digital world of Watershed Packaging, all of our websites have now been rebranded and are full with brand new imagery and video content. We have even entered the social media world of Instagram. For our social media channels please follow us via clicking the icons at the top of this page.
We have a number of employees here at Watershed who started at the business through apprenticeships and have now successfully completed their exams to join us as full time employees. Congratulations to those of you who have passed your exams, we look forward to seeing you grow and develop in your roles in the future here at Watershed Packaging.
Watershed Packaging is also excited to announce that we have been awarded a Zero Labels 2 Landfill and a Zero Foil 2 Landfill certification. This guarantees that absolutely none of our Label waste or Foil waste will be taken to landfill. The Scheme is run by Prismm Environmental Limited and is sponsored by the British Printing Industry Federation (BPIF). We will be writing in more detail about this exciting achievement in our upcoming posts, stay tuned for more information!
